A film installation
to immerse visitors
The Victoria & Albert museum’s ‘Fashioned From Nature’ show came with a warning: We need change. Sometimes it works best to show your argument without words, hence the call for a film-based immersive experience placing visitors in the argument.
So often positioned in tribute to nature, the global fashion industry has evolved an unhealthy and abusive relationship with its primary source of inspiration and material. Lovers were invited to portray this dynamic within a film installation, at once mesmerising and troubling.
In Too Deep
With the use of three gigantic screens we were able to tell non-verbal stories about nature’s destruction by fashion. Chapters took visitors on a harrowing tour through drought-ridden plains, toxic oceans, emaciated cotton fields and uprooted rainforests.
